I know I disappeared again but this time I have a good excuse. I’m back to share some exciting news with you all…if you follow me on social media you probably already realized, I am expecting my second baby!
So why did I take so long to announce it? The first three months I was feeling terrible! Then, work picked up for me quite a bit but since I’m nearing the end of my school year(c’mon April 28th!) I decided to get back to sharing my adventures with you all.
How is this pregnancy different than my first? With my first I had a very smooth, uneventful pregnancy. I even delivered on my due date. Not much to report expect for the actual labor which was, like most labors, very unique. But one day I will recount the labor story of my first. The second time around I have felt sick since I figured out I was expecting. Those first three months were very long and I took a lot of time off from work but once the second trimester hit I felt great, almost like myself again. I am now a little over 33 weeks pregnant and have just under 6 weeks to go! I can’t believe how fast it has gone by!
A big difference between my first and second pregnancies is I don’t eat the same. With my first I couldn’t get enough food! Now, it seems like my appetite never really went up too much. I have managed to maintain a steady weight gain and as of my 33rd week I had gained 15lbs. Let’s hope I don’t go over 20lbs!
As far as running goes…I have to be honest, after I got the confirmation I was pregnant and morning sickness started to kick in I just wanted to sleep so I gave up running the first trimester. When the MS subsided I was still fatigued to I tried not to push it but I just couldn’t get back into the groove of running again. I do see other pregnant runners with their tiny bellies and out for runs even further along than I was at the time and I felt ashamed, like maybe I wasn’t trying hard enough. But.. I’ve already committed to myself to running post baby as much as I can. We even went ahead and bought a new BOB stroller!
In the future I do plan on writing about my running adventures with a new baby and my rambunctious 6 year old but for now I am just going to enjoy my last pregnancy and enjoy sharing the moment with my readers. I hope you stick around. For now I leave you with a picture of the baby shower cake, isn’t it cute?!
